We have a skate park at rush, which is further away, a skate park in Stratford park for scooters and skaters mainly- so where's the inclusion for cyclists?

- It would progress a lot of young riders skills, and create social circles in the community.
- "Having a BMX track would be awesome, there is NOTHING nearby that is any good. There is a decent track at Bishops Cleeve but it takes an hour to get to. There is a terrible track at Kingsway in Gloucester that obviously ticks a developer's requirement for some sort of 'Leisure Facility' but it is utterly terrible, obviously designed by someone who has never ridden a bike.

- The area has needs something like this for a long time. I helped get the first ramp built in Bussage Park and that’s been a great success.
- Filling in on behalf of my child
- My children are grown up and grandchildren only toddlers. I have worked with young people and facilities like this are great for them in lots of ways.
- My children are 6, 7 & 18 and they would all use it! What a super idea for the youngsters of Stroud!! Please build it!! Stroud will be a better place with it here!
- Get it done my dudes.
- This is for my 12 year old son. We currently have to go to Cheltenham.
- The only decent outdoor skate park is in Stratford Park and is far too small for the amount and variety of children that wish to use it.
- My child used to use bike track at pitchcoombe and he used to work on cycle tracks. So it also instructs future
- So many resources are taken away from our youth due to funding, this park would offer a great place that would be respected and used, promoting an active energetic lifestyle.
- I'm filling this in as a community member and public health worker. For the children in my community and grandchildren
- I'd would use this track with my 4 year old son, who we have just learnt to ride a bike on his own. Cycling has played a big part of my life and with schemes like this will hopefully be a big part of his future too.
- Many people around the area want this!
- I lived in Stroud for many years and have family there.
- It needs to be safely accessible to get to on bike. More cycle lanes and paths if necessary.
- If you need a DJ for the opening day/night then holla, always happy to help at community events
- I work with young people and we need to embrace things that build resilience and health as long as it’s not expensive
- Yes completing for a six year old
- I would use it with my daughters who are 9 and 15
- Completely unnecessary and a waste of money.
- I have two boys aged 8 and 5 who would use with me.
- The young as well as the older need something positive to bring them out of their homes and to enjoy likeminded people and social communication with others in turn this in time will reduce people's mental health in turn should help NHS in a number of ways, let alone the persons wellbeing.
- Do it. Please :)
- I think it would be important to have an area for much smaller children too.
- I think the questionnaire needs to ask who's commenting, adult or younger person. I am a parent commenting on what my kids might enjoy in the future, they are boys aged 7 and 9.
- I live near Stratford Park and we truly don’t need this. We don’t need another place where young people can go late at night that isn’t monitored.
- My child is too young but I'd love to take him to such a facility.
- Please please please build this, Stroud definitely needs it
- I'm too old for such things but would be great for my grandchildren when they are older.
- Improve existing facilities and improve and provide proper disability toilets changing facilities to make these exist facilities accessible for all.
- I am filling this out as a parent who is concerned at the lack of facilities for young people and teenagers.
- Up grading the play area is sure a better use of money as there's already a bike / skate ramps.... what about a splash pad ??
- I personally would not use it, but as my young daughters get older this might be something that they would enjoy.
- All site locations need to be looked at. Stratford Park is already loosing too much green space and with the skate park will start to feel cramped. Other site options should also be explored.
- Stratford Park would be a great location for it.
- Can’t wait!! My husband would love to use it too, he’s in his 30s :-)
- Just completely this survey to show my support. When my boys were younger they enjoyed the Rush Skate Park. Got them away from computer games
- "The devil makes work for idle hands ~ give the youth of Stroud some good facilities and let them develop some great skills.
- There isn't much in Stroud for young adults and teenagers to do (and some pre-teens) improve facilities and avoid some of the anti-social behaviour.
- Stroud is a great town with limited quirky sport facilities, not everyone wants to kick a ball or swim!"
- I can go in it with my bike and learn new tricks.
- My son would be delighted. He has been put off using the ramps due to youths smoking cannabis. I have witnessed this when he was young and used to take him.
- Pump tracks are a great alternative to full size tracks or parks.
- We would use it every week
- I couldn't really answer question four. I may have a go on it but it's more for the kids than myself!
- I would not personally use but this would be an excellent facility for my young children to use.
- It needs to be done properly. Too many things around the Stroud area have been done without thought and without the consultation of proper people, people with knowledge and people who actually have ridden and still do ride.
- Very concerned at the prospect of proposed development of Stratford Park - building on untouched ground.
- My sons are 7 and 10
- These are great fun. Get you out of the house and improve cycling skills.
- No.
- Suggest you share results with Stroud Town Council.
- Completing on behalf of myself and my 2 boys (9yrs & 4yrs)
- I lived in Stroud as a child, and didn’t have the opportunity, now I have moved away I am a massive BMX fan and race regularly, having seen the benefits that racing has on children (and adults) I would love to see this facility up and running
- This is the sort of activity my grandchildren would love
- Filling in for both myself and my children
- I am filling this is as a supporter of the scheme and one who has first-hand experience of the benefits of this type of facility.
- I have six nephews and nieces in Stonehouse. They have to travel to Forest of Dean to use this facility. My grandson recently took part in the mountain bike racing in pump track Eastnor they would love it
- I think things like this are needed in the area for the youth of the district to be able to ride safely in most season, as well as older people like myself, somewhere all-weather makes riding through the winter months more bearable.
- I am a cyclist and can see the benefits of facilities such as these to the young and not so young in the community.
- The kids need to get outside more away from Tv and games consoles this track will improve kids health and maybe get into the sport of BMX or mountain biking
- It would be an excellent facility for the kids to build cycling skill and confidence as well as fitness.
- No further comment
- On child's behalf.
- The more facilities children have the better, it keeps them fit, active and away from electronic devices. With the rising child obesity levels this would be a good opportunity for the kids.
- I feel this is a great opportunity for little used piece of land to be of benefit to myself, my family and the wider community
- "My business has been located in Stroud since 1987, and over recent years I've noticed a dramatic increase in runners and cyclists. A local dedicated BMX track will be a huge benefit to those looking to expand their cycling skills, and perhaps most importantly of all, encourage people of all ages to get more active.
- 1. A BMX is one of the cheapest ways to afford a bike.
- 2. Why wait until a person is diagnosed morbidly obese before the tax payer is committed to funding out for Weight Watchers etc.
- A: Invest in health generating fun facilities before the problem becomes a more expensive, NHS draining burden."
- Stroud has great bike culture and this would be great for kids, teens and adults alike
- Filling on behalf of my child and myself
- It is the best place for me to go and ride and it would be a shame if it shut down.
- After school activity clubs would love to get involved.
- A BMX track would provide many with access to aerobic exercise without the pressure or cost of being in a gym. Riding bikes is fun and detracts from the fact you are doing exercise... Which makes it very beneficial for both physical and mental wellbeing.
- Son loves BMX and we can’t always afford to go to Rush Skate Park
- I think that mountain bikes should be allowed also
- I have two sons, 5 and 12 who would visit a track as often as I could take them. We live in GL2 - fairly local.
- Just another area for yobs to gather.
- My kids would love to ride something like this & currently we have to drive to elsewhere with similar but if I am working they are unable to go to one. Having something like this local means they could go there when I am in work.
- Safe, open air recreational spaces are vital for children’s physical AND mental health. There should be an obligation on councils to provide this sort of amenity.
- Kids would love this
- Nope
- My children currently use the track at Woodchester, although they can't do so after rain as it floods....a better bigger track would mean they would use it more often and for longer periods.
- Possibly have various levels of difficulty for beginner and intermediate and some dirt jumps. Also more councils to be on board with mountain biking!
- My two sons, 8 & 10, would be thrilled
- Filled in on behalf of child
- This would be very beneficial to get kids off the sofa playing fortnite getting fat
- Filled in on behalf of my 5 and 3 year old children, but I would also dust the BMX off and use the facility. I have great memories of Ryeford BMX as a child with my parents as well as spending a large amount of time at Bournemouth's BMX track while living down there. Would be great for the community
- "There should be facilities like this everywhere things like this promote positive things in all aspects of life Health, Wellbeing, Good attitude ,Etc"
- I wouldn’t personally use this track too old now but I know it would be a fabulous environment to take children, grandchildren, encouraging teenagers to engage in a super fun sport with friends, as part of a training team! I myself as an 80’s teenager have many happy memories of time spent with friends around the old BMX track at Ryeford.
- Teacher in the district who knows how difficult it is for teenagers to find something to do especially those who are not into organised/team/group hobbies.
- No
- This would be a really asset to Stroud. The recent development of a pump track at burrows playing field in Cheltenham is a wonderful example of what a success it can be.
- I'm filling out for me; a 40 year old rider and on behalf of my family, 2 boys 4 and 6years.
- Filled in for my son and daughter.
- Would be a great addition to Stroud
- I represent an actual bike company and think it’s a great idea!
- On behalf of my child
- No further comments
- This would be soo good!
- Yes!
- My children would benefit from a place like this to level up their riding
- I am 14 and struggle to find rides in the Stroud area. A pump track would be really useful
- No
- My self and son 11 yrs I’m 50 +
- We can’t wait to see this facility in Stroud, it will be a great asset for all residents!
- I have two children who would use it regularly and encourage their friends too
- As a father who has loved bikes all my life somewhere like this would be a perfect place to spend time with my children.
- I am filling this in on behalf of myself and my two kids, we would all use and enjoy it!
- Just look at the popularity of the asphalt and dirt track in Leckhampton, I drive there from Dudbridge along with my other local friends. I meet other friends from the Forest of Dean, Cheltenham, Bristol and Gloucester. It’s a facility which is worth the trip for a fun day out. We all go proper mountain biking too, and a couple of my friends are professional athletes (one of which is Alfie Stephens from Rodborough) but pump tracks are all about pure fun. And it’s hard to hurt yourself (compared to mountain biking in forest trails, full scale BMX tracks, and jump tracks) so anyone can give it a go and have fun.
- The pump track in Cheltenham gets great support and I am sire one in Stroud would be a great benefit to the community
- Yes I am, my 11, 15 and 18 year old would all use it.
- "I have raced BMX for many years, and pump tracks are great fun and also a great stepping stone to ridding full size BMX tracks.
- Yes my kids will use it."
- Filling in for the benefit of my son daughter and I.
- Having been involved in past projects, these things are great for the community.
- I am a child wanting this pump track to happen
- No
- N/A
- The more fitness structured free facilities available to kids the better.
- Need more mountain bike related stuff in Stroud
- Both!!! I’d do 2 if I could....
- We are a family at of 3 of mixed ages 42, 49 and 10 years old and we are a mix of male and female
- This would look great for the council as well, keeping children fit, free facility for youth and thank you for considering a pump track in Stroud.
- Make a pump track :)
- So impressed with what @pinkMTB and others at Wroughton have achieved - would love to replicate in Stroud
- Let’s build this f***ing pump track!!!!
